1. Prepare Your Application:
Obtain and complete the homeschooling application form available on the NESA website. Have your supporting documentation and your educational curriculum program ready.
2. Submit Your Application:
Submit the homeschooling application form, your supporting documentation and your curriculum program to NESA via their online homeschooling portal, or through email, or post.
3. Home Visit:
NESA will assign an Authorised Person (AP) to your application. The AP will contact you to schedule a home visit.
During the home visit, the AP will assess your dedicated learning space, review your curriculum plan, and discuss your homeschooling approach. The child being registered for homeschooling also must be sighted by the AP.
4. Decision and Registration:
NESA will review the AP's assessment and make a decision on your homeschooling registration. If approved, you will receive a Certificate of Registration along with its expiration date which tells you when it will need to be renewed.
5. Registration Renewal
When your Certificate of Registration is due to expire you will need to apply for a renewal through NESA. The AP will do a home visit and go through your documentation of your child’s learning from the previous year, and then look at your new curriculum program for the intending year. After the home visit NESA will review the AP's assessment, and if approved you will receive your Certificate of Registration along with its expiration date.
